Frequently Asked Questions
General
Do I have to join synchro to join PUFSC?
No, the synchro team is a subset of the whole club. However, we encourage you to think about joining the synchro team – members of the synchro team feel more involved with the club and have a greater opportunity to make lifelong friends. Synchro is also a cheap way to skate a lot, travel, and have fun!
What does it mean to be in PUFSC?
It means you get access to club ice time, outings, and social events. You also have the opportunity to organize and perform in our annual ice shows.
When can I skate?
You can skate during club ice time and the student permit skate time. See the Baker Rink schedule here.
How many ice shows are there per year?
Two. We host a large ice show in the spring called Tigers on Ice, and we have a smaller holiday ice show right before winter break.
Do I have to try out to be in the club?
No, we accept everyone from all different skating backgrounds (even if you don’t have one)! There are only tryouts for the synchro team.
I can’t afford PUFSC dues. Can I still join the club?
Yes. Contact us by emailing princetonuniversityfsc@gmail.com or one of the officers so we can help you work something out.
I don’t own skates. Can I still join the club?
Yes! However, Baker Rink doesn’t have rental skates, so you won’t be able to skate there regularly. You will still get to participate in the other club events, though.
